Make way for the Rough Rider!

Make way for the advocate of "the strenuous life"!

In some ways, Theodore Roosevelt was a man of his time. In other ways, he was ahead of his time. He could be an international buttinski and behave less than honorably (as in discharge) toward Buffalo Soldiers in the Brownsville Affair, yet he believed in civil rights for women and African Americans. TR was a conservationist who took steps to preserve natural wonders such as the Grand Canyon, though he failed to champion the people from whom the continent was "won."

Theodore Roosevelt bristled with contradictions! He was a privileged and sickly child who refashioned himself into a rowdy intellectual who took on the powerful and the moneyed on behalf of the people.

Now this man who was immortalized on Mount Rushmore (a/k/a Six Grandfathers) is immortalized as a cuddly 11" Little Thinker doll!

Let TR keep you company at your desk or in your briefcase as you solve the problems of our time – which were also the problems of his time – and remind you always to be ahead of your time!

Naturally, the birthplace of the rugged outdoorsman who became the first President Roosevelt is today a US National Park site. Why not pay a visit to the Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site and chat with the park ranger on duty the next time you’re hiking through the wilderness of (surprise!) New York City?

Make way for Theodore Roosevelt, the man who spoke softly and carried a big stick!

Just don’t call him "Teddy"!
